Always tasty not too sweet like other bakery's, it's light and fluffy nice family owned place. Street Parking can be a hassle.

It itself Is quite nostalgic for me as my grandmother and I would frequently visit Chinatown. I decided to visit after quite a few years to enjoy a vanilla bread and it still did not disappoint! It is sad how quiet China town has gotten over the years but am happy this little bakery is still there! Keep going strong!

This place really is the queen of bakeries! From their cakes to their pastries, everything I've tried is delicious. For the people saying parking sucks, you're right!! But did you know they validate from a near by parking?! Anyway, service is also very good, could be faster if they were to upgrade their system but no complaints. Also it could be overwhelming as they don't have a "line" system. The times Ive been there people walk in and next thing you know they're paying before you. Gotta be fast paced here. If you're in China Town, don't forget to visit them.

3.8/5 Coconut bread is very good... hint of coconut in each slice and very milky and soft... they serve great bread here! Their strawberry almond cake was actually very good... I prefer it over Phoenix's. It's soft and milky with just enough almonds, nothing overpowering, not too nutty. The focus really is on the cake... Unfortunately the cream puff pastry (forgot name) wasn't all that good... flaky but a bit too hard for my liking. But overall a legitimate bakery in the town!

You take the crown in baked goods, Queen! This is the bakery I will always swing by every time I have to chance to go to Chinatown. No frills, it's a pick up and go type of spot. This bakery definitely takes you back in time, it's nostalgic whenever I come here. The have classic treats like almond cookies, cakes, egg tarts, etc. Stopped by to pick up slices of strawberry cheesecake, strawberry cake, and cream puff pastry. It is so rich, creamy, delicious, sweet, yet not over the top. The quality is consistent every time I come here. The staff is fast, attentive, and sweetS You've outdone yourself every time Queen. Already can't wait to be back!

Note: Parking may be difficult since it's Chinatown. Pro Tip: Bring cash unless you plan to buy $15+ worth of items. Most bakery items cost $2-$4 aside from specialties such as cakes. - - - - - - I knew i had to stop by Queen's Bakery when I saw it. I'm not sure what allure drew me in but it felt right. I had their curry beef pie, cupcake, and one of their milk breads. The curry beef pie was alright, and the cupcake was a little on the fluffier though lighter side for sweetness. The milk bread was just right and tasty. I cant wait to come back and try the rest of their menu, since the items were very fairly priced.

God Save the Queen! Every time I come to Chinatown (which is about once a year), I try to make a stop at Queen's Bakery. Queen's Bakery brings me back to the old days of LA, when we had to drive to Chinatown or Alhambra to buy Asian groceries, when you could find Queen's Almond Cookies and Rice Puffs in every grocery store. As a kid I didn't find the almond cookies or rice puffs mind blowing, but I ate them because they were there. Fast forward a few decades and now I can no longer find Queen's Almond Cookies and Rice Puffs at any Asian grocer. Maybe the wider distribution has stopped, but Queen's is still holding strong. They make their money with their fruit cocktail sheet cakes. Spongy cakes with light whipped cream and fruit in the middle. Sweet but not too sweet, decadent but not filling. Just right for topping off a good Cantonese meal. These days, the almond cookies and rice puffs are a bargain. At $8.50, you can get box of each. The almond cookies are flaky, buttery, barely sweet with a slice of almond in the middle. If there's a crayon color called golden gold, these cookies would be it. My memory wants to tell me that that almond slice used to be a full half of an almond, but I understand baking budgets and the slice serves the purpose just fine. My mom was astonished that they crammed in 40 cookies for that price. The sachima/rice puffs I find myself craving. That's because the mass produced ones in the markets from other brands don't come close to having the tenderness and rich flavor that Queen's rice puff has. It's moist and dense but comes apart easily with a little bend. They mix in almond bits, sesame seeds and coconut flake sprinkles, the coconut really takes it to the next level. Their rice puff is a simple treat, but one that no other bakery in SoCal has been able to match or top. If you go back 40 or 50 years, these desserts taste now just like they did then. You can still order that fruit cocktail or strawberry cake for your banquet and feed all 10 people or 1000 people. That almond cookie and fortune cookie that Chinese restaurants used to give you along with your check, this is that cookie. And the sachima... San Francisco has its dan tats and Golden Gate Bakery and LA has Queen's Bakery's sachima... They are their own institutions and we are lucky to have them.

Driving back to Cen. Cal. I make a special side trip to Queens for their popular Rice Puffs( Sachima ) . Freshly made daily and well worth driving out of my to buy them. I regret that I only bought 2 boxes. I also regret I forgot to buy the Pineapple Buns. Everything is good at Queens. What looked very yummy was the Mango Cake. If I had an ice chest with me ,I would have bought it *** May is API Heritage month. Support Asian owned businesses. Stop # 5 of 13. May 9 2023 ***
